Looking for caffeine or energy?
They are not the same thing.
We tend to conflate two very different things. But, the truth is, we consume way too much added sugar, and one of the ways we consume this added sugar is through sugary liquids, including coffee. In fact, sometimes when we think we’re craving caffeine, what we’re really craving is the sugar in that drink, and coffee has become just one more mechanism for us to consume added sugars.
To put this in perspective, a 12-ounce cafe mocha contains about12 teaspoons of sugar. Would you sit and eat 12 straight teaspoons of sugar? Probably not, but you can very easily drink it. In this episode, I want to help you seperate your search for an energy boost from that processed fix.
