How often have you heard someone say, “well he would be in better shape if he was willing to do what it takes,” or “she wouldn’t have that problem if she exercised more.” Those types of thoughts are absolutely the wrong mindset. The focus shouldn’t be on whether or not we’re willing to compromise. But we often choose the wrong things to compromise on – things that either we have very little chance of actually being able to compromise on, or things that we can easily compromise on, but that won’t actually matter in reaching our goals for better health. Change things that you have the ability to change, and that fit your lifestyle. And be sure to choose focus areas that will actually make a difference. It’s not a question of whether to compromise…it’s a question of choosing what to compromise on.
