I tend to break nutrition habits down into four key actions: drink more water, manage your calorie intake, eat fruits and veggies, and limit added sugars. Drinking water is one of the simplest, yet most effective changes you can make when it comes to improving your nutrition habits. The best way to judge proper hydration is to observe the color of your urine. The clearer it looks, the better! To manage calories, intermittent fasting, counting calories, and monitoring or limiting portion sizes all work well. For fruit and veggie intake, once again, consistency is key. Finally, identify the areas where you consume the most added sugars. If most of these calories come from sugary drinks, start by reducing the size of your drink when you can. Then move to cutting back on one of the drinks over a period of time (each day or each week).
