Often when we take steps to change our nutrition habits, we expect to see almost-immediate results… But nutrition doesn’t necessarily equal weight loss. Moreover, weight loss doesn’t necessarily equal health. Nutrition is about getting the fuel our bodies need to function efficiently and to perform throughout the day. Can that happen without us visually noticing any external change? Absolutely! It happens every day. When I drink my 100 ounces of water throughout the day, I don’t necessarily see a change in my body, but I know that I feel better, move better, I am less susceptible to cramping, etc. Do I see the effects of that multivitamin, or even of my daily consumption of salads? Usually not. But over time, I absolutely see the effects. I want you to think about nutrition at the metabolic level, not at the waistline level. So be patient as you approach your nutrition habits. Health is about more than just a slim figure, and I’d take health over skinniness any day of the week. Be patient with your nutrition.
