Why do you want to exercise? Most people answer that question by stating their desire to lose weight… Others say they want to feel better. Still, others may say they want to be able to move without pain and to perform activities with the family, and others may have a desire to live a longer, more fulfilling life. I love when people frame their exercise goals in a value-driven way. But one of the things that I’ve noticed over my years of personal training and health coaching is that we sometimes get stuck in the past with our “why” for exercise. The “why” should change with us as we live life. So as you think about your “why,” and the reason you are exercising, consider what’s important for your health, not just the way you look.
