I’m no stranger to early mornings. But, I have to be diligent about getting to sleep early if I intend to get enough rest. However, with a hectic schedule, young kids, and a demanding job, sleep often takes last priority, and it’s likely the same for you.
While you might think you are only losing a couple of hours of sleep here and there that you can simply make up on the weekend, the truth might surprise you. The CDC considers poor or lack of sleep, a national public health problem. Lack of sleep can lead to big problems and poor performance throughout the day, and over time it can really mess us up.
So today we are talking about sleep: common sleep disorders and the ramifications poor sleep has on our waking hours, the ways proper sleep can benefit us, and a few ways we can improve our sleep. We will also be discussing our ideal duration of sleep, and how REM cycles play a part.
